The offshore fishing was incredible this week. We headed out Thursday with a 3 man crew of Kevin Bloom and friends. On the way offshore we stopped to try a little cobia fishing. It worked out great. We went 2 for 3 on cobia(lemon fish), caught our live bait and decided to head offshore for some yellow fin tuna fishing. We made the long run out to one of my favorite yellowfin tuna fishing spots and it was on. We were hooked up to yelllowfin tuna for almost 3 hours straight.

We had our limit of yellow fin tuna, which was 9 fish weighing between 40 and 60lbs. We decided to head in and try our luck at some amberjack. We made a quick stop picked up a quick limit of amberjack weighing 30 to 40lbs. Kevin told me he had never caught a wahoo and would love to catch just one. So I put the baits out and on the first pass we were hooked up. One nice 30lb wahoo and we were back on the move headed north. We decided to make one last stop where we had seen the cobia earlier and picke up one last fish. We were headed in, worn out with an ice chest full of fish and plenty of smiles from the trip.

Saturday we had Justin and his crew from Lafayette ready to go chase some yellowfin tuna. We stopped on the way out and caught a limit of amberjack, caught some live bait and headed south to one of our favorite yellow fin tuna fishing spots. The first hour was a little slow, but after that it was fish on for the next four hours. We ended up with 12 yellow fin tuna and decided to head back north for some cobia and wahoo fishing. We had a couple of knock downs, but never landed a wahoo. We stopped and picked up some cobia, lost one over 60lbs at the boat and saw several others that wouldn't bite. With the ice chest full and everyone worn out we decided to head back to the dock. It was a great weekend of fishing with plenty of ice chests full.

Everyone was full of smiles and had plenty of great stories to tell back at the dock. I had a last minute cancellation for this weekend coming up, which is Memorial weekend and the boat is available for anyone who wants to fish the Oilmen's tournament out of Cocodrie, La. Don't miss out on a fishing trip of a lifetime! I will post more fishing reports as soon as I get back in from fishing.

What a great week to be on the water. We fished out of Grand Isle. Louisiana this Tuesday and Wednesday. We left both days around 6:00 a.m. out of Bridge Side Marina and headed south looking for tuna and wahoo. Our first location we stopped at was so loaded red snapper we actually hooked 2 of them while trolling. We continued south crossing into blue water about 60 miles offshore. There was some scattered grass but nothing worth fishing. We trolled for a while both days and only landed 1 nice wahoo. We started chuming and the tuna where every where under the boat. We caught tuna after tuna loosing several to sharks. We had to move several times to get away from the sharks. On the way in we stopped to try and catch amberjack. We limited out fast with the amberjack ranging from 40lbs to 80lbs. If you would like to go on a Tuna Fishing Charter of a lifetime, come fish with FISH COMMANDER FISHING CHARTERS.

Sorry no reports in the past few weeks - we have been fishing day, night, tournaments and rodeos. Fishing overall has been great from 20 - 30 miles offshore out of south pass. I personally have tagged 11 Billfish this year within 30 miles from shore. The overnight trips for Tuna have been very popular with our customers - they are definitely tired the next morning after catching Tuna all night long!!!

Capt. Terry Brousseau, Capt. John Teel, Capt. Donnie Ray & Capt. Chad Horton all had good trips this past Saturday - catching big Yellowfin Tuna, Amberjacks, & large Red Snapper. But - the new kid on the dock - Capt. LANCE Walker on his debut on his first big Sport Fishing Yacht Charter tagged a 300 # Blue Marlin and caught 10 Yellowfin Tuna. CONGRATULATIONS

Had the chance to take out Thomas Krafft and friends Saturday for the trip of a life time. The day started out a little slow when bait was scarce. We stopped at several places but live bait was not around. We kept on going with seas building, nothing the 38ft Bertram could not handle confortably. When we arrived to our destination two lines were dropped and we started chumming. We only raised two sharks around 100lbs. Plans changed an we started pulling baits. The first pass by the rig and it was on the rest of the day. After putting 3 yellowfin in the boat and one rainbow runner, we had four lines get nocked down. Three customers grabbed rods and one would not quit running. We had 2 yellowfin on 1 blackfin and a white marlin. After the marlin spit the hook we had 4 lines tangled. My first mate Jeremy Powers quickly got to work and some how managed to help everybody land all three tuna. One line cut and out I sent a new bait. We ended up catching 5 more yellowfin when we were reeling in the last blackfin and it all happened. I told the customer to stop reeling the line and Jeremy quickly grabbed the rod to throw it in freespool. I could see about a 300+ # marlin chasing the fish. Right as he started taking the drag out the lady in blue jumped and sure enough our line was hanging out of its mouth. After an hour and a half six first time offshore fishman had taged and released there first blue marlin. These guys did a great job with the fish, but we could not have done it without Jeremy.

FOR A FISHING TRIP LIKE THIS CALL LANCE WALKer
