louisiana fishing charter

Capt. Lance Walker Baton Rouge, LA USA
Yesterday's trip was the one I had been waiting for all season.

We FINALLY made it out to bluewater for the first time in a couple of weeks - this trip goes to show what a little patience can bring.  To put it lightly we SLAUGHTERED the fish.  We brought home: five yellowfin tuna and, four blackfin tuna.  We had a Blue Marlin on that weighed between 400-500 lbs.  Even though we didn't land the fish, the pure excitement of having the blue marlin on for several min. made the trip.  Deck hand William Miller caught the Blue Marlin on live bait, a baby yellowfin tuna.  The fish got loose after jumping out of the water several times.  Just as we thought our day couldn't get any better - it did!  Not a few min. later after our battle with the blue marlin was sadly ended, we looked out at our line and much to our surprise we had a White Marlin on.  The white marlin was caught on an Islander bait.  The fight we had with this fish was incredible.  After rigorous effort, and even getting the fish to the boat several times, we just couldn't land it.

Even though we couldn't tag any marlin, we had a great time trying.  Not to mention all the other great fish we did catch.

On our way in, I spotted several chicken dolphin, the first I have seen.

Needless to say, I believe this is going to be a great and exciting year of fishing.  Hope to see you out there.
