Capt. LANCE WALKER Baton Rouge, LA USA
This week was full of great fishing.

It all started out with a great overnight trip I had last Friday.  There was no time for sleep because the fish never stopped biting.  So by eleven o'clock that night we had our limit of Yellow Fin Tuna, and several nice Black Fin and Dolphin. Saturday, I took another trip out but this time it was on the Glacier Bay.  The plans for Saturday were to make a long ride out to load the boat with Tuna.  But to my surprise, only twenty miles out, there was a beautiful grass line.  So instead we decided to troll the grass line, and ended up walking away with several Dolphin, and a shot at a really nice blue marlin - You can't get them everytime!  After trolling for several hours, and with plenty of hook ups, we decided to head back in for some easy bottom fishing.  We once agian loaded the boat up with several huge Amber Jack, and then decided to call it a day.    Sunday, was an early morning in hopes of catching a Blue Marlin.  We trolled the rip line from West Delta 143 to BP 109, picking up some nice Bull Dolphin along the way.  The guys on the trip were happy with the Dolphin, but I decided to stop and bend the rods one more time before heading in.  After six giant Amber Jack were thrown in the boat we decided to call it quits.

With just the right amount of sleep under my belt, it was time to head back out for another overnight adventure.  An what an adventure it was, we totaled up with eleven Yellow Fin and twenty-four Black Fin.  After our great start we didn't think it was possible to catch anymore fish.  At about 2:00am, when everyone was trying to get some sleep, I decide to do a little fishing myself.  I grabbed my spinning reel, and casted out a top water plug.   The first fish I hooked was over thitry pounds, and much to my surprise it was a Black Fin Tuna.  This fish will place TOP 10 in the State of Louisiana for Black Fin Tuna.  After all this excitement there was still more to come, and only one fish left to catch - MARLIN.  We started pulling Marlin baits as the sun started to rise, and by early morning we had our first knock down.  After a quick fight, and a beautiful show, first mate Leon Norris grabbed the liter and held on to the bill of a White Marlin.  We snapped several photos with the fish, and then watched as he swam off.  Congratulations, Frank, on your first Marlin.  What a great way to end the trip, it can't get any better than that.

The blue water action has been great, with the rip line forming up fifteen to twenty-five miles offshore almost everyday.  I have to say that right now is the time to get out there.  So hurry up and book your trip, because the dates are filling up fast.  We can accomodate you with boats ranging from a 26ft. Glacier Bay to a 38/40ft. luxury Sport Fisher.

Please call Capt. LANCE Walker to book the Glacier Bay at (225)445-1005.
