Fishing Reports – Grand Isle, Venice La

Had a couple of trips with LANCE Walker with Fish Commander charters(225 445 1005) over the weekend, the fishing has been truly incredible. We left fouchon at 3 friday afternoon and headed to the canyon. We picked up a couple of wahoo and bull dolphin just before dark when the fun was just fixing to start. I cant explain how fast the tuna bite was, they were busting all over the boat. We had 9 yellowfin before 10 when my smart self got a hook through my hand. So we had to go 20 miles to meet a boat for bolt cutters, special thanks to the boat that waited on us. we tried around 2 other rigs but nothing but blackfin so back to the honey hole we went. Started back fishing at 2 and we had our lmit by 3. Even had a 100 pound yellowfin on my bass rod which took the majority of the hour to lose him right by the boat. Finished the trip with 18 yellowfin, 8 blackfin,2 wahoo, 3 dolphin, 8 snapper, and 1 cobia.
